Reception honouring Elizabeth

On Friday, April 11, at a reception in the department lounge, Elizabeth Cowper was officially presented with the Vivek Goel Faculty Citizenship Award by the University of Toronto Alumni Association.

The award was announced last month and recognizes Elizabeth's nearly 40 years of service to the U of T. On top of having been a faculty member in our department since 1976, she has been undergraduate coordinator, graduate coordinator, and associate chair for our department; sat on innumerable committees; supervised more than 60 graduate projects (including those of three other current department faculty members); and, at various times, served as chair of the Department of Humanities at UTSC and a dean at both UTSC and the downtown School of Graduate Studies.

This recognition is more than well-deserved. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
