We are delighted to announce the addition of two new faculty members to the Centre
for French and Linguistics, both with a starting date of July 1, 2013.

in 2009. He also holds a Certificate in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science from
the University of Maryland and both an M.A. and B.A. in Linguistics from the
University of Florida. His work focuses on how the brain encodes phonetic
information, how phonological structure is used to interpret the speech signal,
and the time-course of access to morphological structure. He integrates
approaches from linguistics, experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
Since 2010, Dr. Monahan has been a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Basque Center
on Cognition, Brain and Language in Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain. Phil's

the graduate Department of Linguistics at the St. George campus.

linguistics. Since 2010, Dr. Takahashi has worked as a Research Assistant, Lab
Coordinator and Linguistics instructor at the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain
and Language. Eri's appointment is in the teaching stream at the rank of
